About

Terry and Julie’s story begins in Southern Ark. When they met at a college fraternity costume party. Terry was an ambitious Martial Arts student pursuing A degree in Liberal Arts, and Julie was finishing a degree in Social Science. Terry was dressed in his Martial Arts uniform as he had just come from a Competition earlier that day. Julie was dressed in western wear as she had attended the horse races at Oaklawn that day Terry’s most imaginative “pick up” line was; “I guess this is where the East Meets the West”. Julie, being quick witted, replied; “If  you can’t think of a better line, then why don’t you ask me to dance”. That was their first date and they have been dancing together for over 30 years.

Inspired by their story, the ”East Meets West” guest room provides guests with a quiet country escape with views of the serene gardens surrounding the home. Since moving to the farm, Julie has completed the Master Gardeners program and uses her knowledge of local plant life to create the herb and butterfly gardens around the house. The Meadow View “Loft” has a view of the gardens and it’s décor of serene greens and pastels reflect the feeling of a peaceful garden. Through Terry’s connections with Martial Arts, he and Julie have  enjoyed traveling the U.S as well as Canada, Europe, and the U.K., and have stayed at many Bed and Breakfast Inns along the way. Their newest room, they call ” Ocean Springs” was inspired by their many travels to the Caribbean islands, especially the lush rain forests of Puerto Rico.

They love meeting new people and seeing new places, but there’s “no place like home”, as Terry will say, “Everything seems to slow down when you drive through the rolling hills of North Mississippi.” On the way to the farm you will see green pastures and farm land where cotton & soybeans are farmed, and see old silos and milking barns that where once dairy farms. The “Cotton & Kudzu” guest room reflects the beautiful colors of harvest time and the nostalgia of homespun quilts and hand embroidery arts & crafts. One of Julie’s favorite verses. “Come with me to a quiet place and rest”, from  Mark 6, “reminds us to take the time to rest and restore our soul”. Terry and Julie hope that your time at Meadow View Farm will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
